British Apricot Jam is a stereotypical speciality all around the world. Before coming to England I often wondered who the original jam would actually taste. Finding a good specimen of this local speciality can be pretty tough though.
Clearly the apricot jam found in supermarkets is not what you’re looking for in terms of fresh, tasty, homemade jam. Also delicatessen stores don’t offer the right product. Their expensive jams are often far away from the traditional original or taste artificially.
Really the only way to have real British Apricot Jam is either to make it yourself or to simply look around the countryside. Most people today don’t realize it, but there are many local farms offering the traditional British Apricot Jam in astonishing quality.
One of the best is Blackwell’s Farm in Essex. In one of my earlier posts I mentioned Blackwell’s outstanding quality and their delicious products in terms of fruit and vegetables. The brilliant jam they offer to their customers is definitely worth another post about them.
Did I convince you of this marvellous British Apricot Jam and do you want to try it for yourself? Simply visit Blackwell’s Website for directions and information: http://www.blackwellsfarmproduce.co.uk/
